To Music ~ A celebration of songs and arias for a wind swept, leaf strewn, November day!!
Hi Everyone. Just a reminder to anyone who is pottering around Dublin this coming Thursday at lunch time, to pop into the beautiful St Ann’s church on Dawson st for a song recital presented by five of my students.
The song birds of the hour will be Deirdre Durkan, who is no stranger to St Ann’s, having sung there as a chorister, with a love and passion for music and the arts, reflected in the sweet sincerity of her voice, Caoileann ní Cheallaigh, our youngest performer, at the ripe age of 17, who, imagewith the voice of an angel, will be including some sacred songs in her performance, Fiona Hannon, who is in her second year with me, and is currently busy creating new music for her debut album, whilst simultaneously high flying here and there(quite literally) in her work life, Avril Hannin, also in her second year as a student of mine, choral gem and top B flat extraordinaire, and Naseem Khan, singing with me, for under a year, who is already developing a reputation for her opera arias in certain circles which she is also dove-tailing with a career as a scientist.
Séamus Ludden, also an accomplished baritone and composer will be putting on his piano fingers for the concert.
The recital begins at 1.15pm this coming Thursday 12th November.
It is a free event but audience members can make a donation to St Ann’s, who have always been so supportive of music making.
